The Classic “Damavand trip”, one of our most sought-after tours, is designed for people who want to conveniently as well as efficiently hike Damavand, the highest peak in the Middle East.

Your acclimatization process will be dutifully carried out by our expert mountaineers who know the Damavand trek like the back of their hands and are best at what they do. Almost all the time, we successfully climb Damavand Mount, which is about 5671 meters high.

Classic Damavand Trip At a Glance

Day 1: Drive to Rineh; Transfer to base camp (almost 3100m), Acclimatization.

Day 2: Trek to the shelter (almost 4200m); Acclimatization.

Day 3: Climb Damavand Mount Summit (almost 5671m); descend to the village.

Day 4: Drive back to Tehran. 

Climb Damavand Itinerary

Day 1       Tehran / Damavand trip to base camp (almost 3100m)

For your first of your Damavand tour, at 9:00 in morning, we will start driving from Tehran for about 3 hours to Polur, a small village on the way to Damavand trekking route. We well have lunch in a local restaurant, before drive out to the base camp of southern trekking route of Mount Damavand  climb named Goosfandsara (meaning Sheep Pasture) or locally called The Mosque at almost 3100m with 4WD vehicles (approx. 45 minutes). We will have acclimatization, so we will trek up to almost 3800m which will take us almost 2 hours. Finally, for the day, we will descend to the base camp, have a healthy dinner there, spend the overnight at base camp in the tents or a room in the Mosque.

Day 2       Camp 3 or Bargah Sevom (almost 4200m)

On day 2, after having breakfast and handing the luggage to the porters we will leave the base camp at 8:00, trek to the Bargah Sevom or camp 3 shelter at almost 4200m which will take us about 4 hours. After arriving at Camp 3 and having lunch in the shelter, we will rest for a while only to go for a short acclimatization trek up to almost 4900m. This trek will help better sleep in camp 3 for our tomorrow’s Mount Damavand Climb. After descending to the shelter to have dinner, we will sleep overnight in camp 3 either in tents or in shelter.

Day 3      Climb Damavand Mount Summit (almost 5671m) / Rineh 

Today is our Mount Damavand Climb day. We will wake up at probably 5:00 in the morning, so we can have more daylight in our plan. We will leave shelter to have breakfast, Climb Damavand Mount which will take us almost about 5 or 6 hours to get to the highest point in Middle East. So, we will enjoy the great landscape from the top (depending on the weather conditions, of course), take lots of photographs as well.

Afterwards, we will start to descend to the shelter which will take us about 2 or 3 hours, so we will be there at about 12. Then, we will have a delicious lunch with some melon or watermelon as dessert, have some rest and then descend to the base camp at 4 (approx. 2 hours). We will drive to the guest house by 4WD cars, then we head to a local hot spring pool to have a relaxing swim after our intense few days. The waters of the spring emerge from under the Damavand Mount.  Finally, we will have dinner at a local restaurant next to the hot spring pool, spend overnight Village, at the guest house.

Day 4       Rineh / Tehran 

After having breakfast at 10:00 in the morning, we will go for a short sightseeing around the village for an hour to get to know the area a little bit.  Before saying goodbye to Damavand, MountWe will pack our things up and leave for Tehran at about 12:00, so we will have lunch at a cozy local restaurant on the way back. We will say goodbye at the office by the afternoon.
