Northeast Damavand Trekking Tour Brief Introduction

This Damavand Iran tour offers an entirely different experience of climbing the Damavand mount by choosing a different route.

 Also, this tour includes enjoying relaxing in hot water springs as well. On this Iran tour, we will start climbing mount Damavand from Nandal village. For two days, we will stay at a hut named Takht-e Fereydoun at 4388 meters. We will spend the first two days for acclimatization. On the third day of this Iran tour, you can finally summit the Damavand mount. The fantastic landscape from 5610 meters is an unforgettable lifetime experience for the tourists. But, this tremendous tour doesn’t finish yet! On the fourth day of this Iran tour package, you will have time for relaxing in the hot water spring. We will end this delightful experience by going to a traditional restaurant for having a portion of delicious food. In the end, we will go back to Tehran.

Northeast Damavand Trekking Tour At a Glance

Day 1: Drive to Nandal Village; Transfer to Basecamp (2870m), Acclimatization trek up to 3600m.

Day 2: Trek to Takht-e Fereydoun (Damavand northeast hut at 4380m); Acclimatization trek up to 4900m.

Day 3: Trek to Damavand Summit (5671m); Descend to Takht-e Fereydoun at 4380m.

Day 4: Descend to Basecamp; Transfer to the village, rejuvenate in hot spring pool, Drive back to Tehran.

Northeast Damavand Trekking Tour Detailed Itinerary

Day 1     Nandal village / Basecamp

Today at 9:00 we drive to “Nandal” Village (approx. 5 hours) located at the feet of Mount Damavand, we go to the guest house and have lunch, we will be transferred to the base camp of northeast route of Mount Damavand named “Goosfandsara-ye Gardanesar” (the sheep pasture) at 2870m with 4WD cars (approx. 1 hour), we trek up to 3600m (approx. 2 hours) and stay for a while to acclimatize, next we descend to the basecamp, have dinner, overnight the base camp in tents.

Day 2       Takht-e-Fereydon hut

Today after having breakfast we leave the basecamp at 8:00, hand the luggage to the porters, trek to the hut at 4388m named “Takht-e Fereydoun” (approx. 6 hours), have lunch in the hut, rest for a while, then we go for a short acclimatization trek up to 4900m and descend to the hut to have dinner. Overnight the hut or in the tents.

Day 3       Damavand summit

Today is the day we’ve been waiting for to climb the highest peak in the Middle East.

After having breakfast at 5:00, we will start trekking to the summit (approx. 6 hours), enjoy the magnificent landscape from the top (depending on the weather condition not to be cloudy!), taking lots of photographs. Then, descend to the hut at noon (approx. 3-4 hours), have a delicious lunch with some melon or watermelon. After lunch, you have time on your own. Have dinner at 21:00 — overnight the hut or in the tents.

Day 4       Tehran

Today after having breakfast we leave the Takht-e Fereydoun at 8:00, descend to the base camp at 12:00 (approx. 3-4 hours’), drive to the village and pick up our swimming costumes to enjoy an hour in the hot spring; after such a hard day, it would be absolutely delightful! Then we have lamb kebab in a cozy local restaurant, after a good lunch we drive back to Tehran, we head to the office, we have dinner, and that’s the end of our journey.
