Day 1: Tehran, drive to Lasem Village

Ski Damavand Detailed Itinerary

Day 1      Tehran / Lasem Village (2700 m)

Today we have a short sightseeing in Tehran then we drive to Lasem Village, at 9:00 we drive to the north of Tehran to visit Sa’dabad Complex (the Palace that the King and Royal family used to live), then we go for lunch at province, a beautiful cozy area close to the mountains at the north of Tehran, having some rest we drive to the guest house at  at 14:00 for about 3 hours, we prepare our stuff for next day ski touring, then we have dinner, overnight Lasem at the guest house.

Day 2       Doberar Peak (4250 m) / Lasem Village

Skiiing in Iran: today we trek by skis to Doberar peak (4250m), after having breakfast at 6:00 we start trekking to reach the snow for half an hour, then we put the skis on and start trekking to the peak for approx. 5 hours, we have some photographs from the nice view of landscapes we ski down to the Village for approx. 1 hour, we have lunch at 14:00 at the guest house, take a shower and some rest, we have tea and coffee in the evening, then we have dinner and we go to sleep, overnight Lasem at the guest house.

Day 3       Changizchal Peak (4100 m) / Rineh Village (2300 m) 

Today we trek by skis to Changizchal peak (4100m), after having breakfast, at 6:00 we start trekking to reach the snow for half an hour, then we put the skis on and start trekking to the peak for approx. 4 hours, it has a very good snowfields to ski down and a brilliant view of Mount Damavand, we ski down to the Village for approx. 1 hour, we have lunch at 14:00 at the guest house, having some rest at 16:00 we drive to the guest house at Rineh Village to be prepared for next days ski tours on Mount Damavand, we have dinner at 19:00, overnight Rineh Village at the guest house.

Day 4       Damavand Basecamp (3100 m) / Camp 3 or Bargah Sevom (4200 m)

Today we trek by skis up to the shelter at 4250m on Damavand southern route. After having breakfast at the guest house, at 7:00 we are transferred by 4wd vehicles to the final available point before basecamp (Mosque at 3100m) for approx. 45 minutes, we give the items of luggage to the porters, then at 8:00 we put the skis on and start trekking to the shelter for approx. 5 hours, we have lunch at the shelter at 14:00, have some rest, then we have coffee and tea time at 17:00, have dinner at 19:00, overnight Damavand in the shelter.

Day 5       Camp 3 or Bargah Sevom (4200 m)

Today is our acclimatization day. After having breakfast at the shelter, at 9:00 we start trekking by skis to 4800m for approx. 3 hours, then we ski down to the shelter, we have lunch at 14:00, this afternoon is on your own to rest and prepare your stuff for summit day, we have dinner at 19:00, overnight Damavand in the shelter.

Day 6       Damavand Summit (5671 m) / Rineh Village (2300 m)

Today is the day we are waiting for, the summit day. We wake up early in the morning at 4:00, after having breakfast we leave the shelter at 5:00, we have ski-trek to the summit for approx. 6-7 hours (we should use ski crampons as it is icy early in the morning), taking some photographs from the nice panoramic view on top, we start skiing down to the shelter at most at 12:00, it takes about 2 hours to the shelter, we have lunch, coffee and tea at the shelter, then we continue skiing to the basecamp where 4WD cars are expecting us, we will be transferred to the Guest house, go to the mineral hot spring pool and relax, have kebabs for dinner, overnight Rineh Village at the guesthouse.

Day 7       Rineh Village (2300 m) / Tehran

Reserve day for the summit in case of any problem like bad weather condition and also in case we couldn’t descend back to the village after summit; Then we will drive to Tehran and that’s the end of our Ski tour.
