Morning plan
Your guide picks you up at 8:30 from your hotel. Firstly, we go to the Golestan Palace. You may have visited it in the Tehran Museum tour. Shams-ol-emareh tower is an ancient building in Tehran. It was built in Qajar dynasty. Because of height and exclusive decoration and design, it is the most significant building of Golestan complex. It was constructed from 1244 to 1246 Hijri (around 1830).
Shams-ol-emareh has 5 stairs and 35 meters high. Actually, it was the tallest building of Tehran at its days. Also, it was the first building with metals used in its construction. All the piers and fences are made of cast iron. After that, in Tehran towers tour, we will have a look at other buildings of Golestan complex.
Secondly, we’ll continue the Tehran towers tour to Azadi tower. Before the Islamic revolution in Iran, people called it Shahyad tower. It was a symbol of Tehran at those days. Hossein Amanat, Iranian architect, designed and constructed the building in 1349 Hijri. Actually, Azadi tower was built for former kingdom 2500-year festivals. It was a symbol of modern Iran then. The tower architecture is a combination of Ancient Persia and Islamic architecture.
Afternoon plan
Finally, we will go to Milad tower as the last destination of Tehran towers tour. Around 1:30 we’ll have lunch at a restaurant in the tower. Then, we’ll go sightseeing.
Milad tower is a multipurpose telecommunication tower. It is located at north-east of Tehran. Being the highest tower in Iran certainly, it is 435 meters high. It is also 6th highest telecommunication tower and 19th tallest structure of the universe. With 13000 meters foundation, Milad tower is the first in the world for the extent of the structure of the tower. Moreover, you can see Milad tower from all over Tehran. Therefore, it is now the symbol of Tehran worldwide. There are conference halls, cinemas, and other salons in this complex. You can watch movies or go to concerts in your tour if you want with previous registration.
