Damavand The North Face at a Glance

Day 1: Drive to Nandal Village; Transfer to Basecamp (2870m), Acclimatization trek up to 3600m.

Day 2: Trek to 4000m Camp; Acclimatization trek up to 5000m Shelter.

Day 3: Trek to Damavand Summit (5671m); Descend to 4000m Shelter.

Day 4: Descend to Basecamp; Transfer to the village, hot spring pool, Drive back to Tehran.

Damavand The North Face Detailed Itinerary

Day 1          Nandal village / Basecamp (3600m)

Today at 9:00 we drive to “Nandal” Village (approx. 3 hours) located at the feet of the north face of Mount Damavand, we go to the guest house and have lunch, we will be transferred to the base camp of north route of Mount Damavand at 3000m with 4WD cars (approx. 1 hour), we trek up to 3600m (approx. 2 hours) and stay for a while to acclimatize, next we descend to the basecamp, have dinner, overnight the base camp in tents.

Day 2          4000m Shelter

Today after having breakfast we leave the basecamp at 8:00, trek to the “4000m Shelter” at 4000m (approx. 5 hours), have lunch in the Camp, rest for a while, then we go for a short acclimatization trek up to the “5000m Shelter” at 4700m and descend to the 4000m Shelter to have dinner. Overnight the Shelter or in the tents.

Day 3          Damavand Summit (5671m)

Today is the day we’ve been waiting for to climb the highest peak in the Middle East from the north face, after having breakfast at 5:00 we will start trekking to the summit (approx. 6 hours), enjoy the great landscape from the top (depending on the weather condition not to be cloudy!), taking lots of photographs, descend to the 4000m Shelter at 12:00 (approx. 3 to 4 hours), have a delicious lunch with some melon or watermelon, then you have time on your own to rest. Have dinner, Overnight 4000m Shelter or in the tents.

Day 4          4000m Shelter / Basecamp (3600m) / Tehran

Today after having breakfast we leave the 4000m Shelter at 8:00, descend to the base camp (approx. 3 to 4 hours), drive to the village and pick up our swimming costumes to enjoy an hour in the hot spring; after such a hard day, it would be absolutely delightful! then we have lamb kebab in a local cozy restaurant, after a good lunch we drive back to Tehran, we head to the office, we have dinner and that’s the end of our journey.
